Although today only part of the frescoes are still preserved you will feel like you traveled back in time. The monastery was opened as museum and tourist site in 1906. The site was declared national antiquity and national monument of culture.
     If adventure is your middle name and you never stop to explore new places you can go on an excursions with 4x4 offroad driving or catch a bus to neighborly places. Just remember to book it the day before. Other fun places to visit nearby are Nessebar and Balchik, small towns but offering a lot of exciting things to do and people to meet.
